ASI announces new premises at the international Paris-Vatry airport

Reims, March 9, 2021

To support its growth, ASI Group opens new premises at the international Paris-Vatry airport, while capitalizing on its headquarters located in Reims-Prunay

Despite the challenges encountered during the last 12 months, ASI Goup (ASI Innovation and ASI Aviation) announces the signing of a leasing agreement with the Paris-Vatry international airport management team, with the support of the “Département de la Marne”, allowing ASI to establish its presence for the long term.

ASI Group will occupy a 2500 m2 (25’000 square feet) brand new hangar, establishing its delivery center and part of it aircraft modification and interior refurbishment activities. ASI Group continues to experience a steady growth, despite the current pandemic. While the historical location of ASI Group isn’t relocated, some challenges existed and needed to be addressed to allow ASI to continue its expansion on the market of larger aircraft. The runway length and hangars available at Reims-Prunay did not allow ASI to welcome aircraft such as Boeing 737, Airbus A3200, ATR72, or large helicopters. It was essential for ASI to find a location, close to Reims, that could host such range of aircraft.

“The Paris-Vatry International airport brings many benefits to the table and allows us to remain in the immediate vicinity of our headquarters. The runway length, the brand-new hangars and their equipment, added to the presence of immigration and custom officers 24/7, explains why Paris-Vatry was an obvious choice for us. It allows us to capitalize on our strongest asset: our team members. We must thank our long-term partners from the county, the department of the Marne and the local authorities, for understanding our needs and their support. The geographical proximity between the two locations allows to consider the future serenely. The design bureau, Cessna-Reims F406 Caravan II division, parts manufacturing and stock, as the MRO activities will stay located in Reims-Prunay while customer deliveries, large aircraft modifications and ISR mission equipment installs will be performed in Paris-Vatry”, said Jean-Pierre Kohn, President and CEO of ASI.

“I want to welcome ASI Group at Paris-Vatry International airport. This new location will allow the growth of ASI, while participating in the growth of Paris-Vatry International airport. It confirms the attractivity of the airport for companies such as ASI and the positive effects of the strategy initiated in 2020, despite the beginning of the pandemic. ASI Group’s arrival is a direct answer to our need for a long term, profitable tenant. The brand new, fully equipped hangar materializes the long-term relationship that will be fruitful for all three parties: the county, the airport and ASI”, indicated Christian Bruyen – President of the « Département de la Marne et du Conseil d’Administration de l’Établissement Public de Gestion de l’Aéroport de Vatry (EPGAV) ».
